Configure the options for each stockpile.
Info |
---|
New stockpiles can be added in the /wiki/spaces/PS1D/pages/28705084 step. |
Assign chunk templates and reclaim types to each stockpile.
Setting | Options | Notes |
---|---|---|
Type | Stockpiles can be reclaimed FIFO, LIFO, or Blended. | Reclaim oldest chunk first, newest chunk first, or all chunks mixed. |
Chunk Template | Choose how material is bucketed in the stockpile. | Grades are homogenous within each chunk, but different chunks may have different grades. |
Can Reclaim | Allow a stockpile to reclaim. | Used to disable reclaim on dead or legacy stockpiles. |
Can Fill | Allow a stockpile to fill. | Used to disable filling on dead or legacy stockpiles. |
Mutex Group | Assign Mutex groups to LIFO/FIFO stockpiles. | Single-Mutex stockpiles cannot build and reclaim at the same time. |
Build Counter | Assign build counters to Mutex stockpiles. | Build IDs are unique across multiple stockpiles when they share the same build counter. |
Target Type | Assign target types to Single-Mutex stockpiles. | Period targets are specified by period in the Calendar. |
Total Capacity | Assign stockpile capacity to Auto Chunk stockpiles. | Auto Chunk templates create chunks as a function of stockpile size. |
Blended Parcel | Assign blended parcel names to Blended stockpiles. | Blended stockpiles are reclaimed as a single homogenous material type. |
Restrictions
Mutex Groups can only be assigned to LIFO/FIFO stockpile types.
Build Counters can only be assigned to Mutex Group stockpiles.
Target Types can only be assigned to Single-Mutex Single-Counter stockpiles.
Blended Parcels can only be assigned to Blended stockpiles.
Stockpile Type
Stockpile reclaim types can be set to FIFO, LIFO, and Blended.

Blended stockpiles reclaim a homogenous blend of all chunks. The stockpile cannot be reclaimed until all chunks are full. The Blended reclaim type can be used to model large blended stockpiles that are built in campaigns. |
Mutex Group
A Mutex Group is about making sure that the next on-blend stockpile is being built while the current on-blend stockpile is being fed.
Single Mutex Group
In a group with one stockpile, it is either building or reclaiming, but not both.
Figure. FIFO Stockpile using Single Mutex Group
Double Mutex Group
In a group with two stockpiles, one is building while the other is reclaiming.
Once the reclaim stockpile is empty, both stockpiles switch states (even if the building stockpile isn’t finished yet).

Large Mutex Group
In a group of seven stockpiles, six are building while one is reclaiming.
The optimiser prefers to finish building stockpiles (to get them ready for reclaim).
Once the reclaim stockpile is empty, it switches to building, and one of the other six becomes the new reclaiming stockpile.
The order that they are reclaimed can be set in the Calendar
Reclaim Before Full
Minimum Reclaim Threshold can be set for each stockpile in Setup > Stockpile Build Settings.
If all stockpiles in a group are empty, the first stockpile to fill above the threshold is switched immediately to reclaim.
Build Before Empty
Minimum Build Threshold can be set for each stockpile in Setup > Stockpile Build Settings.
If all stockpiles in a group are full, the first stockpile to deplete below the threshold is switched immediately to build.
