Haul Infinity detects problems in the network and lists them in the Error List below the viewport. Always keep the error list open while making changes to the network. |
Error thresholds and finders can be set and enabled/disabled in Tools > Project Settings > General.
Errors are critical, they can cause haul network breaks and schedule issues.
Warning may not necessarily be errors and can stay unresolved, but they must be checked and decided whether they are critical or not.
Messages are given for information, not critical.
Hidden are warnings you pressed the minus icon in the Hide column for. Toggle the Hidden button to display/hide them.

Isolated Blocks

“Isolated Blocks” is a critical error that won’t let you to proceed with a scheduling. All blocks must be connected to the road network. |
Go to the Blocks panel and find blocks not connected to the haul network. A red exclamation mark will be shown beside isolated blocks.
Make sure all blocks are connected by drawing a proper road network and assigning joins. More details see here and here.
When all blocks are connected, you’ll see green ticks besides them in the Blocks panel, and this error message from the Error List will be gone.
Isolated Node

Errors with isolated nodes occur when node centroids are not connected to any points on the road network. This can happen when importing nodes and segments and offsetting their coordinates, or deleting some segments leaving nodes unsnapped. It is a critical error, because isolated nodes cannot be accessed by trucks. |
You need to connect the Isolated node to the point on a road. Options:
Draw a road segment to the Isolated Node, or
Select the Isolated Node > right-click > Move Point / Node (hotkey <F>) > snap to the Point, or
Select the Point nearby > right-click > Move Point / Node (hotkey <F>) > snap to the Isolated Node.
Select a point where the Isolated Node should be > right-click > Promote Point to Node > create a new node and rename it as required.
Untraversable Segment

Segments with too steep gradient are a critical error since trucks cannot safely traverse them and travel from point A to point B. These errors can lead to the schedule failures and trucks choosing the wrong routes because they cannot traverse a given one. |
You need to make sure all road segments are traversable. Options:
Redraw the road as described in HI. Drawing Network section and make sure all segments have a reasonable gradient and can be traversed by trucks.
If you are sure that the segment gradient is correct and the truck can traverse it, increase the Max Use of Retarder in Settings > Retarder to 1. For more details, see here.
Apply a smoother gradient to the road between points around the steep segment:
Hold <CTRL> to select two points on the same road.
Right click and choose "Apply Gradient Between Points".
Set the relevant gradient for all segments between the two points, as shown below:
Intersecting Segments

Intersecting segments occur when two segments cross over each other within a certain distance. This may look like a valid vehicular intersection, but the trucks will not be able to travel from one segment to the other. |

Double click on the "Intersecting Segments" warning in the Error List.
The intersection will be selected and displayed in the Viewport.
Review the intersection.
If it’s valid, do nothing, or lower/raise one of the segments points to make the intersecting segments minimum 8m apart (Intersecting Segment Search Distance can be changed in Tools > Project Settings).
If not, join the intersecting segments by pressing Join in the AutoFix column.
It will join the segments and create a point at the intersection.
Unsnapped Points

Unsnapped points occur when two points are within a threshold distance of each other. This may look like a valid network connection, but the trucks will not be able to travel from one segment to the other. |

Double click on the "Unsnapped points" warning in the Error List.
The unsnapped points will be selected and displayed in the Viewport.
Review the points.
If it’s valid, do nothing, or lower/raise one of the points to make them minimum 10m apart (Unsnap Search Radius can be changed in Tools > Project Settings).
If not, join the unsnapped points by pressing Snap in the AutoFix column.
Alternatively, select one of the points and move it (hotkey <F>) towards another until they snap.
It will snap two points together and resolve the warning message.
Point Over Segment

Points over segments occur when a point is within a threshold distance of a segment, but not connected to that segment. This may look like a valid network connection, but the trucks will not be able to travel from one segment to the other. |

The not connected point will be selected and displayed in the Viewport.
Review the connection.
If it’s valid, do nothing, or lower/raise the points to make it minimum 8m apart from segment (Point On Segment Search Distance can be changed in Tools > Project Settings).
If not, connect point to the segment by pressing Connect in the AutoFix column.
Alternatively, select the points and move it (hotkey <F>) towards the segment.
Vertical Points

Vertical Points warning occur when a point is within a vertical threshold distance of another point, but not connected to it. Take a look at these vertical points and decide if they are correct or if they should be snapped together. |
Double click on the "Vertical points" warning in the Error List.
The vertical points will be selected and displayed in the Viewport.
Review the points.
If it’s valid, do nothing, or lower/raise one of the points to make them minimum 5m apart (Vertical Point Search Radius can be changed in Tools > Project Settings).
If not, select one of the points and move it (hotkey <F>) towards another until they snap.
It will snap two points together and resolve the warning message.
Steep Segments

Steep segments are defined as roads too steep for the truck's rimpull and braking curves, or greater than the global maximum gradient in Project Settings. Steep segments must be fixed manually by re-drawing the ramp or smoothing the segments. |

Double click on the "Steep Segment" warning in the Error List.
The steep segment will be selected and displayed in the Viewport.
Steep Segment Garde Pct can be changed in Tools > Project Settings.
Select two points around the steep segment holding <CTRL> button.
Select “Apply Gradient Between Points”
Confirm the proposed calculated average gradient to be applied to all segments between the selected points.
Duplicate Segments

The duplicated segments will be selected and displayed in the Viewport.
Review the segments.
Merge the segments by pressing Join in the AutoFix column.
