RR. Quick Start Tutorial
Rapid Reserver creates a volume in space, cuts that volume into benches, and cuts benches into blocks. Those block solids are immediately reserved for blast masters, grade control and mine scheduling.
Rapid Reserver is organized into four tabs:
Setup tab - contains an ordered task list to prepare the project.
Designer tab - contains the 3D work environment to cut solids from benches.
Report tab - allows the user to QAQC the reserves without leaving the application.
Solid Lab tab - may be used to create pit solids and dump solids.
Brief description of these tabs see below and detailed information is available by clicking on the links provided.
The exercises in this chapter are for familiarization purposes and are deliberately light on detail. More in-depth discussion follows in the next sections.
Unless otherwise noted, each exercise follows from the preceding exercise.
Accessing Rapid Reserver
Rapid Reserver is launched from the Alastri Hub, which manages all Alastri licenses and applications on your computer.Â
To install the Hub, see Installation and Setup.
To run the Hub, double click the shortcut icon  on your desktop, or search for "Alastri Hub" via the Start menu.
Once in the Hub:
Click the Rapid Reserver option.
Select the latest version.
Click START to launch the software.
Once in Rapid Reserver, click File > New to open a new project.
Setup Tab
The main steps to set your model in Rapid Reserver are listed below. Navigate through them in a specified order or go to RR. Setup tab section to get more details.
Note, that in order to unlock Designer tab, Report tab and Solids Lab tab you have to complete and run all the Setup tasks listed.

Designer Tab
The Designer tab is the primary 3D work environment for the project, which allows the following:
View the entire solid inventory by pit, stage, or bench.
Show colour-coded block models in the background.
Inspect solid properties, reserves, and attributes.
Resolve errors in the Error List.
Full description of the Designer tab see here.
Solid Lab Tab
All benches in Rapid Reserver are cut from a master solid. If you do not already have a pit solid or dump solid, these can be created in the Solid Lab.
Solid Lab consists of four main sections, described in more detail in sections below.
Quick example of Solids Lab tab functionality is shown in RR. Solid Lab exercises section. To see detailed example of solids creation click here. Alternatively, see some solids operations exercises in the walk-thought example section.
Report Tab
The Report tab is displayed within the context of a given project and enables you to generate any standard and custom reports currently available for the project. In this tab you can generate a single report or multiple different reports simultaneously for the project. Once the generation of a report has completed, you may export and download the report in all its available formats.
There are three main types of reports you may create:
Full description of the Report tab see here.

To get more familiar with Rapid Reserver features, go through all the Setup steps and populate some sample data. It will help you to get a better understanding of how to deal with reserves database to later proceed with a mining scheduling. Example of filling in all the Setup Tasks, required for creating a valid project, and allowing you to generate and export complete reports, see in the section RR. Project Setup Example.
