APS Period Subsets

Grouping up periods into a group allows the user to reference these names later in the Setup. Any changes made here propagate to all other references in the Setup.

Setup > Period Subsets.

Normal Subsets

Normal subsets are used to arrange periods into groups.

Periods will be grouped into automatically-generated subset groups based on the period year. These groups will appear in and cannot be edited.

To create a Normal Subset:

  1. Use the plus icon to add a new Normal Subset.

  2. Rename the subset to the desired name.

  3. In the period list, select the applicable periods.

Mutex Subsets

Mutex subsets are used to classify periods into exclusive categories. Inside a single Mutex Subset, each period has exactly one classification, i.e., Shift, Daily. Since it is guaranteed that there are no overlaps, Mutex Subsets are useful for things such as reporting.

To create a Mutex Category:

  1. Use the plus button to add a new Mutex subset.

  2. Rename the subset to the desired name.

  3. In the Group table, assign a category name to every period.

  4. Assign each ‘Distinct Group’ a colour.

Normal Subsets and Mutex Subsets can be exported/imported from projects using the folder and floppy disk buttons located in the toolbars.
