PS. Wall Panels

Activities on walls, such as batter pulling, can be modelled by enabling the Model wall panels and related activities option in the Production Mode Features step. Alastri Production Scheduler supports up to 10 custom user-defined wall activities which can be defined in the Feature Settings panel > Wall Panels tab. It is also a requirement that wall panels be generated inside the corresponding Rapid Reserver project.

APS > Setup > Production Mode Features step > flag “Model wall panels and related activities” > Feature Settings panel > Wall Panels tab > add up to 10 wall activities

Wall Panel Generation - Rapid Reserver

Phase Details

To schedule activities on walls, wall panels need to be generated from within the embedded Rapid Reserver project. To get Rapid Reserver to generate wall panels the option Generate Panels must be enabled in the Phase Details step.

Flag “Generate Panels” to enable wall panel generation in Rapid Reserver

There are several wall panel configuration options, and each Phase within the project can be configured differently. The different configuration options are summarised below.

Configuration Option

Description

Configuration Option

Description

Generate Panels

Option to enable the generation of Wall Panels

Width (m)

The length of an area of wall which you may scale in one instance. Length of individual wall panels, i.e. with a value of 50m, on a 200m section of wall - 4 individual wall panels will be generated

Height

The level at which the wall panels will be generated - Bench or Flitch

Thickness (m)

How thick the wall panels will appear in the APS animation

The software generates wall panels based on where the Wall Control string exists, AND the top of the solid doesn’t deviate from the bench silhouette. The image below highlights that where there are sections of deviation, no wall panel is created.

It is important to note that even though the wall panels are created within Rapid Reserver, they cannot be viewed until the Initial Database step in Alastri Production Scheduler. The wall panels will be displayed in the Record tree under their own category, separate from the mining solids.

Wall Controls

In the Setup >Wall Controls step, create the new activity categories as required. For example called Presplit, Batters and CableBolt. More details see here.

Wall Control Designs

In the Setup > Wall Control Designs step, make visible only required categories and use the Painter tools to update the locations for each bench where the activity will be required. More details see here.

Designer tab

Once the Setup tasks are completed, go to the Designer tab and select one bench to visually inspect the results of your selections by selecting and bench and then one or many blocks where wall control is located.

With specified wall control, Blast Shapes Generator will easier create trim shots based on presplit location and length.

Wall Panel Activities setup- Alastri Production Scheduler

Production Mode Features

Activities to perform on wall panels can be defined in the Wall Panels tab located down the bottom of the Production Mode Features step (Features Settings panel). Alastri Production Scheduler supports up to 10 different activities and once defined in the project, behave like all other activities within the app.

Please note, that by default, a sequential dependency is created based on the order activities are listed. In the image below, the Batters activity will occur before the CableBolting activity. Additionally, scripts can be used to model more complex dependencies between activities if required.

Site Lists

In the Setup > Site List step, select the List Type Other Equipment and add a new cable bolting resource, if scheduling Cable Bolting activity.

Parcels

In the Setup > Parcels step, for the activities Batters and CableBolt add a row named “WallLength”, and for the PresplitDrilling activity add “Drilling” parcel.

Fields

In the Setup > Fields step, select the Field Collection group WallSolid and add the related rows as shown below.

  • Populate Batters field collection rows (add one row called “wallLength” which is a Double Field Type, Sum Summary type and format as required).

  • Populate CableBolt field collection rows as shown below.

  • Populate PresplitDrilling field collection rows as shown below.

Primary Fields

In the Setup > Primary Fields step, ensure the activity Batters is set to “wallLength”, the activity CableBolt is set to “meters” and the activity PresplitDrilling is set to “length”.

Data Sources

When using Presplit wall control, in the Setup > Data Sources step, specify a valid Presplit name to model Presplits, otherwise you’ll get an error message, as shown below.

Loaders

In the Setup > Loaders step, if using one of your existing loaders to conduct the wall scaling ensure you select the Batters activity for the appropriate loader/s.

NOTE: If using a separate piece of equipment to conduct the wall scaling activity, in the Setup > Site Lists > Other Equipment, the required machine can be created and assigned the Batters activity in the Setup > Other Equipment.

Other Equipment

In the Setup > Other Equipment, assign the cable bolting activity to the Cable Bolting resource, created in the Sites Lists step. And select a piece of equipment to conduct PresplitDrilling.

Agents

In the Setup > Agents, review equipment assignment, and select the colour and Agent icon you wish to use for your equipment.

Wall Control Activities scheduling - Alastri Production Scheduler

Calendar tab

In the Calendar, select the Loader which will conduct the Wall Scaling activity and update the Mining Rate for the rates in metres per hour. Repeat the steps for the Cable Bolting and Presplit Drilling agents.

Gantt

In the Gantt, add/edit a sequence for the loader used to conduct Wall Scaling as per normal and schedule the batter blocks to be mined by the specified loader. Repeat the process for the Cable Bolting and Presplit Drilling agents.
