TS Crusher Not Feeding

In this section recommended steps to resolve an instance where the crusher fails to feed are listed.

Check 1: Haul Infinity > Network > Select the source and destination > Right Click > Show Return Route

  • Check that there is a valid haul route between the pits and the crusher.

Check a valid haul route exists

Check 2: Schedule > Calendar > Crushers > Capacity vs. Actual

  • Confirm capacity exists.

Confirm crusher capacity exists

Check 3: Schedule > Calendar > Constraints > Capacity vs. Actual

  • Confirm capacity exists.

Check 4: Reporting > Pivot Tab > Source Parcel vs. Destination Top vs. Destination Logic Rule

  • Confirm ore is mined.

  • Confirm ore destination rule exists.

If not enough ore is mined, consider mining tonnes from different pits or benches.

Check 5: Setup > Destination Logic > Destination Rule

  • Confirm ore rules list the crusher as a destination.

Check 6: (Optimise Products mode) Schedule > Calendar > Product Specifications > Grade/Blend limits

  • Look for zeroed or contradicting grade limits, such as Minimum Fe greater than Maximum Fe.

  • Look for impossible blend targets, such as a Minimum Feed Ratio of a material that isn't mined or stocked.

Check 7: (Optimise Products mode) Schedule > Calendar > Product Specifications > Penalties

  • Check for high penalties or negative cash flows.

The optimiser may refuse to feed the crusher if the net grade penalty outweighs the crusher cash flow.

Net grade penalty = (Content Deviation Penalty) * (actual grade - target grade) * 1000

Check 8: (Truck Constrained mode) Schedule > Calendar > Stockpiles > Reclaim Target

  • Check that the movement isn't capped by the reclaim target.

Check 9: (Truck Constrained mode)  Setup > Stockpiles > Finger Pile properties

  • If a stockpile is "First In First Out" (FIFO) or "Last In First Out" (LIFO), then it cannot be reclaimed until it hits the value, specified in Finger Pile Size column (unless you enable Finish Pile at Period End flag).

Check 10: Setup > Map Fields

  • Make sure the correct grade values are mapped into the grade fields.

Check 11: Reserves > Parcel Subsets.

  • Make sure the correct parcels are ticked in each category.
