The Single Destinations mode forces a dig block to contain a single parcel type, with the average grade of all contained block model materials. This can be used to represent dilution, reduce selectivity in scheduling, and to create grade control blockouts.
Dig blocks can be automatically generated using the “Automated Dig Lines Creation” tool located in the top right corner of the Designer tab toolbar.
Option to automatically create dig blocks from the block model parcel data. This allows the schedule to take into account Ore Loss and Depletion rather than assuming that each parcel can be mined and 100% sent to the correct destination. Available in dropdown options depend on an element selected in the viewport. To use this option functionality go through the steps described below.
Single Destinations mode forces a dig block to contain one parcel type. Dig lines must be specified at ore/waste contacts, otherwise the resulting material types will be garbage.
Implementation Notes
By default, Single Destinations mode does not know the grade bands of each material type.
This means that a polygon with 95% high grade and 5% waste may still be binned as high grade, even if the average metal content is lower than the high-grade cutoff.
In order to properly account for grade bands in materials, a custom cash flow must be implemented. Implementations are typically done by Alastri support staff and maintained by the client-side project owner.
Contact Alastri support if you are implementing single destinations in an iron ore project.
Single Destinations Setup
Follow these steps to set up single destinations.
7. Designer tab > Generate Dig Lines dialog
Enter dig line parameters in Generate Dig Lines dialog and press OK to proceed and inspect results in a viewport.
Specify Center X and Y (m), if required.
Specify Size X and Y (m), to make destination dig blocks follow the contours of the components more closely, if required.
Note that smaller the size of the blocks, the longer it takes to generate and process them.
Set the Bearing to match the pit orientation.
Use Create from Corner and Create from Center tools to generate digs grid from a defined corner/center.
Click to start drawing the grid.
Choose a bearing and size.
Left-click to confirm. The Generate Dig Lines window will reopen. Edit, or click OK to confirm.
Specify Autoblockout parameters, such as
Minimum Mining Width X and Y (number of blocks),
Flag Subdivide Large Blocks and specify Region Size to split bigger blocks of the specified area into smaller digs.
Honor Blast Boundaries flag allows neighbouring blasts to be considered when generating dig lines. If this setting is disabled, the dig line creator will treat each blast separately. The resultant output with the settings disabled and enabled can be seen on the right.
Flag Remove Existing Designs option to clear existing linework from the selected level.
10. Designer tab > Export button
Go back to the Designer tab, press Export button and select “Alastri Inventory Model” option from the dropdown. Select a path in the Save as dialog and name exported file as required. Exported file will be saved in “.invModel” format.
