RR. Depletion Surfaces
In the Depletion Surfaces step, apply the latest surveys to the existing solids of the pits and dumps stages.
The phase solids can be cut with up-to-date survey.
Depletion surfaces can be applied to the top of a pit phase or the base of a dump.
There is also the option to input a bounding elevation to reduce the number of blocks exported from the reserves to the scheduler, in the case of a short-term schedule.
Note on usage
Applying actual surface surveys in the Depletion Surfaces step is more correct and easier than regenerating solids in the Solid Lab tab.
For the best and most efficient use of Alastri's Rapid Reserver module, it is recommended to create the base pit solid with a flat top in the Solid Lab tab (operation “Create Solid Below Plane”) to simplify the solid and reduce the number of triangles, and to overlay the resulting solid with the last depletion surveys in the Depletion Surfaces step.
For a more detailed explanation, please watch the “Rapid Reserver > Best Practices” video in the Video Instructions section.
Applying Depletion Surfaces
To apply the latest survey to the pit or dump solid, follow the steps below:
In the Depletion Surfaces panel press the blue plus icon and import required surfaces (or select pre-imported ones).
Depending on the triangles count, select the decimation level (None/Mild/Moderate/Extensive) if required.
2. In the Phases panel (containing all the project phases list) apply the required depletion surface to each phase to update the pits and dumps contours according to the last survey.
Use the Upper Depletion Surface column to apply the surface to the top of a pit.
Use the Lower Depletion Surface column to apply the surface to the bottom of a dump.
If you do not have applicable surveys for some phases, leave the default choice "(none)".
3. You can also limit the pit/dump stage to a certain RL. In this case, all levels above/below the specified level will be considered depleted and the stage solid will be cut at the specified elevation.
Edit the value in the Upper RL and Lower RL columns to limit mining at the specific levels.
By default, the Upper and Lower RL are restricted to a loose value of +20000/-20000.
Navigation
You can apply surveys and RLs to multiple phases at once. To do this, use the shortcut keys. The selected phases will be displayed in the panel below, and the required properties can be applied to the entire selection.
<CTRL>+ click to select single phases.
<Shift>+ click to select ranges.
Notes
Surfaces used
Use depleted surfaces, not the solids of pits and dumps.
Viewing results
To visually display the change in solid's contours after applying depletion surface, use the Show Depleted Solids toggle in the Phase Details setup step.
Exporting Depleted Solids
Depleted phase solids can be exported.
To export solids after the depletion surface has been applied to them, navigate to the Phase Details step and use the Export Depleted Solids button.
Several surface export formats are available when exporting single phases, and a Zip file is used if multiple phases are selected using the default .00t format to export.
