RR. Phase Exclusion Areas

The phase solids can be cut with up-to-date depletion surfaces, these can be applied to the top of a pit phase or the base of a dump (in the previous setup step).

There is also the option to input a bounding elevation to reduce the number of blocks exported from the reserves to the scheduler, particularly in the case of a short-term schedule.

Areas outside the drawn polygon will be completely excluded from the subsequent stage solid.

Manually Clipping the Phase Solid

  1. Set the required thickness using the vertical bar.

  2. For each phase digitise a polygon around the area above the threshold (in Blue).

    1. Rotate the viewport into plan view (or press the Z-cone above the compass cube).

      1. Red shading means the solid depth after depletion is zero.

      2. Brown shading means the solid depth after depletion is less than the Thickness slider.

      3. Blue shading means the solid depth after depletion is greater than the Thickness slider.

  3. Draw one or more polygons around the areas to keep.

  4. When satisfied with a result, repeat for other stages requiring areas exclusion, and press blue play button to proceed to the next step.

Explanations on how to use top toolbar buttons and panels on the right see here.

Automatic Polygon Generation

Exclusion polygons can be quickly created and deleted using the button on the right-hand side of the toolbar.

  1. Set the required thickness using the vertical bar.

  2. Press Generate Polygons using Thickness Colour Coding icon.

  3. Note that the existing polygons (if any) will be overwritten. Press Ok in the pop-up Warning dialog to continue.

  4. Wait for the polygon generation. Review the results.

  5. If required, change the Thickness setting and re-run the function.

The automatic tool uses the Thickness slider as an input on what to keep.
