HI. Materials

In the Materials step enter material types and properties, such as density, moisture, and swell factors.

Recommended Usage

Enter the absolute minimum number of materials required to accurately model haulage.

  • If two materials have different truck payloads, split them.

  • If two materials have different load times, split them.

Many models simply have “rock” as a single material, or “ore” and “waste” as two materials.

Material Properties

  • Haul Infinity makes all calculations in wet tonnes (dry tonnes + moisture) by default (the input density is the Dry density, then the moisture and swell factors are added by the software).

Moisture = (WetTonnes - Dry Tonnes)/WetTonnes
  • Moisture and Swell fields are used to convert between wet tonnes, dry tonnes, and volume for productivity reporting.

Tactical Scheduler completely ignores the Moisture and Swell fields in Haul Infinity, since it already has those values in the reserves database.
