HI. Live Scheduling Queries (Inter-operability)

Haul Infinity can create a live connection with any mine planning package that enables scripting, including Microsoft Excel. Advanced users can connect Haul Infinity to their projects directly, without having to do any imports or exports. This feature is referred to as the interop, which is short for inter-operability.

Installing tools to use Interop feature

  1. In the Alastri Hub download the latest Haul Infinity version and press Install Tools button.

2. The Alastri Haul Infinity Interoperability Client Setup window will open. Press NEXT and follow the prompts to complete the installation.

Connecting with Haul Infinity

Step

Description

Step

Description

1

Open Haul Infinity project.

Note that to use the interop you need to have HI open standalone (i.e not running within ATS or APS).

A Haul Infinity project must remain open for the Interop to connect to.

2

Open “Interop Demo.xlsb” file attached.

3

If you have dual screens, arrange Haul Infinity and Microsoft Excel side by side.

4

In the Interop, click "Enable Editing".

5

In the Interop, click "Enable Content".

6

Locate the Execute button in the top left of the InteropTable tab and press it.

7

The table should now be updated with cycle time values.

Select/input the route details you wish to evaluate and click Execute > the Interop will query HI and return the results to the Excel Spreadsheet.

8

We can query any number of hauls by changing the haul parameters in columns B through column M.

  • The dropdown boxes have automatically been populated with every Source, Destination, Truck, Loader and Material in the open project.

    • Example, if you create new Bench Exit node, you can search for it in the dropdown in the Destination column.

9
  • If you change any haul parameters in the Interop, the calculations update instantly.

  • If you change the network in Haul Infinity, the calculations update instantly.

10

The Interop formulas can be copied and pasted into any format or layout, from daily dispatch calculations to three-month plans.

  • For advanced users, the macros can be edited in Visual Basic for Applications.

11

Note that Interop templates may vary to suit your project needs. If you require to make changes to the template provided or further customise it, contact alastrisupport@micromine.com.

Possible Errors

Truck doesn’t exist

If after hitting the Execute button, the haulage data have not been populated, and in the column Message you see an error message, such as:

<Truck doesn’t exist: CAT777G>,

check the selection from the dropdown in the corresponding column.

Names of Sources/Distinations/Trucks/Loaders etc can change in the project and need to be updated in the Interop selection options.

No access

If you have problems accessing Interop data in Excel, see the settings recommended to make it work.

Unable to connect

  • Make sure you installed tools for the same Haul Infinity version as you are using. Reinstall the Interop tool.

  • Make sure Haul Infinity project is open and all setup steps are ran.

  • Make sure the Excel file is not blocked for editing.

You must create at least N slots for flags

Reason: there are more flags in Haul Infinity, than default slots in the Interop.

Solution: insert the required number of columns for flags in your Interop or contact alastrisupport@micromine.com to update your Interop template.
