HI. Toolbar

This section describes the tools used in the Network tab and explains how they interact with the haul network in the viewport.

 


Compass

In the top right corner of the viewport, you will see the compass cube. It is used to change the view and display the grid.

Plan View

 

 

 

Click on the axis cones to snap to orthogonal views.

  • Right-click and rotate the compass to show the desired angle of view of the objects in the viewport.

Zoom Extents

Click on the grey cube icon to zoom to extents.

Night Mode

Click on the Sun icon to toggle Night mode, and back.


Zooming Tools and Mouse Controls

Activates the magnifier tool. Scroll wheel or left click and drag.

Toggle grid. The grid is only available in the plane Z view.

Measuring Distances

<M>

Click to begin measuring. Drawing the distance, you can measure in the viewport.


Drawing and Snapping tools

Draw Segments

<D>

Draw Segments. Press this icon and left click on the surfaces to draw roads that connect, for example, pit and dump.

Hold <CTRL> to type coordinates.

Show Mouse Text

 

Space

Show Mouseover Text.

Shows coordinate information on-screen when in draw mode.

Road Signs

<R>

Use Dropdown to select what sign is to be placed. Click segments to add a sign.

Speed signage is displayed where there is a change in speed between two segments, or at the end point of a road. 

  • Speed signs set the maximum forward and backward speeds across a segment. 

  • Slow points cause trucks to decelerate to that speed before they exit the segment.

  • Press Configure Signs to add other signs to the list.

  • Use the pin icon to dock the Road Signs panel to the right, next to Display, Layers and Flags panels.

Snap to Point

Snap to Plane.

Use the eye dropper to select an elevation from a surface/model.

Clearing Displayed Haul Routes

Drawing Assistance

These tools may be used to draw roads when there is no existing design. 

Z-Offset

Z-Offset.

When drawing segments, offsets the clicked point vertically by a specified distance (on the Z-axis only).

Gradient Offset

 

When drawing segments, offsets the clicked point such that the specified grade is maintained from the previous point. It is recommended to draw in Plan view with this tool.

Great for drawing interim ramps.

Blocks Display

Blocks display modes.

 

  • Use Standard Mode when building or making general edits to the model. Block visibility can be controlled globally by the Display panel or for more selective block visibility use the Block panel.

  • Use Join Interaction Mode to make/review auto and manual connections of blocks to the road network. More details see in the section HI. Blocks Exercises.

  • Use Schedule Audit Mode. This command will only work if you have imported scheduling blocks. The imported schedule is displayed line by line in the Schedule Auditor panel. Click on individual records to see the haul route highlighted on-screen and the state of the pit and dump at that point in time. More details see in the HI. Process a Schedule > Schedule Audit section.

     


Animation settings

Road and fleet animations settings.

In the dropdown menu specify the desired Animation Speed, and which elements (Trucks/Roads) you wish to animate.

  • By default, Loaded Route is shown in red, and Unloaded Route is shown in yellow. To change these colors, as well as these routes sizes, navigate to the Display bottom tab > Entities panel > Loaded Route and Unloaded Route settings.

  • Size of the Truck and Loader icons can also be changed in the Display bottom tab > Entities panel > Truck & Loader settings.


Legend

Use the Legends button to show color coding of the selected entities.

 

In the Shading drop down, select an entity you want to display the shading for: Blocks, Nodes or Segments.

Shading displayed in the Legend panel is the one selected in the Display panel.


Adding Views

Sometimes you may need to save particular view for consistent screenshots in your reports.

 

To save the current view of any object in the viewport, click the Views button at the right end of the top toolbar and choose “Add View”.

  • In the Assign View Name window that appears, enter a name for the view and click OK to save.

  • The camera perspective will be saved for later viewing.

  • To return to the saved view of the viewport, click Views and select the appropriate one. You can:

    • move to the certain view (“Activate” option),

    • edit its name (“Rename” option), or

    • delete it (“Remove” option).
