APS Parcel Subsets
Parcel subsets allow groups like ‘ore’ to be created and managed in a single place, so that any changes here propagate to all other references in the Setup.
Note that what is defined as ‘ore’ may change from plan to plan, so the user should always double check the subsets are correct with each new planning cycle.
Example parcel subsets.
Normal Subsets
‘Normal subsets’ are used to arrange parcels into groups.
Grouping up parcels (into ore and waste, for example) allows the user to reference these names later in the Setup. This makes it easy to manage any changes to material type names, or to include new material types into the existing ‘ore’ and ‘waste’ groups.
To create a Normal Subset:
Select the ‘Mining’ activity from the Activity list.
Use the plus icon to add a new subset.
Select the Name field and rename to ‘Ore’.
In the Parcel list, tick all ore parcels.
Mutex Subsets
‘Mutex subsets’ are used to classify parcels into exclusive categories.
Inside a single Mutex Subset, each parcel has exactly one classification (ore and waste, for example). This makes it easy to assign parameters (such as truck tray payloads) by Mutex category, since it is guaranteed that there are no overlaps.
Normal Subsets can have overlapping ranges. For example, the ‘Ore’ subset and ‘High Grade’ subset can contain the same parcels.
Mutex Subsets guarantee exclusive categorisation of each parcel.
To create a Mutex Category:
Select the ‘Mining’ activity from the Activity list.
Use the plus button to add a new subset.
Select the Name field and rename to ‘Haulage’.
In the Parcel-Group table, assign a group parameter to every parcel.
To copy and paste values in Mutex Subsets:
Select a single parcel in a Mutex Subset.
Press Ctrl+C to copy the value.
Shift+Select a range of parcels to paste into.
Press Ctrl+V to paste the values.
Use Shift+Select and Ctrl+V to paste values into a range of parcels.
