PS Dependency Troubleshooting

This page provides guidance on troubleshooting dependencies.

Activity Sequences

Activities sequences set in the Activity Sequences step can be used to allow delays for other support activities.

Activity sequences setup step

Using the above setup:

  1. 24 hr delay is set between Drilling completion and Charging starting to allow for drill hole sampling.

  2. 96 hr delay is set between Drilling completion and Mining starting to allow for grade control blocking.

Selecting “Show Dependencies” option from right click dropdown in the Animation tab, one can see that both Charging and Mining are waiting on their associated Activity Sequence delay.

Expand Distances

Expand dependencies act on solids in adjacent flitches or benches. Solids in the lower elevation are dependent on the solids in the higher elevation.

Using the above setup, mining of a lower flitch or bench is not possible unless all other solids within 10m have also been mined.

Selecting “Show Dependencies” option from right click dropdown in the Animation tab, will automatically show Expand distance dependencies with pink arrows.

Showing Dependencies, you can see that Mining of the bottom flitch is waiting on Mining for the adjacent solids.

Maximum Benches

Limits the number of benches that can be active in a given area.

Using the above setup, Mining has been restricted to a single bench but the Gantt has a digger scheduled to mine a second bench (as shown below).

Selecting “Show Dependencies” option from right click dropdown in the Animation tab, you can see that the lower bench is dependent on ALL solids on the bench above due to Max Active Benches.
